Introduction. This article examines the integration of game-based methods into teaching theoretical music disciplines, specifically solfeggio and music theory. This approach aims to enhance student motivation and develop skills through original game formats.
Materials and Methods. Focusing on pedagogical practices and the concept of edutainment, which emerged in the 20th century, this study employs historical source analysis and pedagogical experimentation. It also draws on the presentation and testing of the developed games at various academic events, as well as at creative schools organized by the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music between 2023 and 2026.
Results. The proposed game formats contribute to developing auditory analysis, sight-reading, and musical dictation skills. The findings demonstrate that game-based methods increase student engagement and improve both theoretical and practical learning outcomes.
Conclusions. The findings indicate promising prospects for applying game learning methods in music education to enhance pedagogical effectiveness. The developed methods can be recommended for broad implementation in music institutions.
