Diagnostics of value-meaning competencies of students at a pedagogical university

Introduction. In recent years, researchers have become increasingly interested in the implementation of educational activities at universities and in developing a system for evaluating the outcomes of such activities. The article presents the results of a survey of students aimed at identifying their value orientations for their future professional activities. The purpose of this article is to propose a potential approach designing a methodology for the pedagogical diagnostics of value-meaning competencies (VMC) of students at a pedagogical university.
Research methods. The methodological framework for developing a diagnostic procedure for assessing the formation of value-meaning competence is based on a humanistic approach to pedagogical diagnostics, which allows for the study of a student’s subjective understanding of their existing system of values, views, and positions. The following methods were used in the research: theoretical analysis, analysis of educational practice assignments, questionnaires, unstructured interviews, and reflective essays.
Results. The study suggested that an important resource for transforming the practical training of future teachers is ensuring the unity of curricular and extracurricular activities. The article provides a theoretical justification for this statement, along with examples of assignments and diagnostic data that support the validity of the proposed assumption.
Conclusion. The article discusses possible directions for further developing a comprehensive assessment of the outcomes of professional education for students at modern universities, as well as the use of pedagogical diagnostic methods for assessing the implementation of educational programs at universities.
